Expand Your Eyes (E.Y.E.) is a street photography workshop led by Forrest D. Walker, an award-winning American photographer known for his unposed, color-rich, and deeply immersive approach to urban life. Over the last five years, Forrest has walked across more than 100 cities in over 70 countries, capturing human stories on foot — one
honest frame at a time. This workshop is rooted in Forrest’s belief that the best street photography isn’t just about technical skill or gear — it’s about training your eyes to see more, feel more, and anticipate life unfolding around you. His approach is deeply observational, often described as “invisible,” where the subject is unaware, the scene is untouched, and the emotion is real.

Through Expand Your Eyes (E.Y.E.), Forrest will guide you into his way of seeing:

How to walk with purpose and patience
How to notice gestures, color tension, light play, and human rhythms
How to shoot candidly and respectfully, without altering or intruding upon a moment

This is not a lecture-based classroom session — it’s a walk-driven experience where the street becomes your canvas, and the world becomes your subject. Forrest will walk and shoot alongside you, sharing techniques he’s developed from thousands of hours photographing strangers, in unfamiliar cities, often under pressure. Whether you’re a beginner looking to break out of hesitation, or an experienced photographer seeking stronger storytelling and deeper connection in your work, this workshop is designed to stretch your visual instincts and help you return with photographs that feel alive, intentional, and honest.

Things to note:

All cameras are welcome. There will be a limited selection of Leica cameras and lenses available for attendees.
Minimum 4 pax to commence photo outing. In the event the class is cancelled, you will be refunded accordingly.
Maximum of 10 participants.

About the Instructor

Forrest D. Walker is an American street and documentary photographer from
Portland, Oregon, currently traveling the world full time. Known for his bold
use of color, unposed storytelling, and relentless curiosity, Forrest has spent
over five years walking through more than 100 major cities across 70
countries, averaging 20 kilometers a day to capture the raw, candid rhythm of
urban life.

His signature project, the 100 City Project (Big City, Small World), explores
the beauty of everyday human moments across global cities. From Manila to
Istanbul, Johannesburg to Buenos Aires, Forrest finds common threads in
vastly different places, revealing the soul of city life through honest, immersive photography.

Forrest’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications and platforms such as Street Photographers Foundation and Inkef. He has been invited to speak at photography festivals, universities, and community events in more than 10 countries, sharing insights from his journey and visual philosophy.

A self-taught photographer, Forrest is driven by the belief that the best photography comes from walking, observing, and engaging without influence or interruption. His approach is rooted in presence, empathy, and patience, capturing stories as they unfold without staging or interference.

Through his work and workshops, Forrest encourages photographers to see beyond the obvious, to connect with the environment, and to find meaning in the in-between moments. Whether on the streets of New York or a hidden alley in Bangkok, his images reflect a deep love for exploration and a fearless commitment to the human story.
